I'm Randy Waldon, I was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I lived all over Montgomery, Tippecanoe and Putnam Counties. I lived in Greencastle when I signed up for delayed entry on 09 July 1982. I left for boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in January 1883, In march 1983 I attended Apprentice Training at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. I was stationed aboard the USS SEATTLE AOE-3 at Norfolk Naval Station. I arrived there in April 1983 to find my ship was at sea. I was sent TAD to Amphibious Base Little Creek at Barnum Hall to wait for Seattle's return. After two North Atlantic Cruises and a Mediterranean Cruise I extended a year for BE&E and IC A School at Naval Training Center, San Diego, California. I returned to the Seattle in May 1985 and left for my final Med. Cruise in August 1985. My active service ended 06 January 1987 and was Honorably discharged on 08 July 1988.
