Like LCDR Chamberiain I live in San Carlos. Joined USNR while in high school in 1955. Went to reserve meeting in big hanger on TI. Later attended and instructed at the USNR radio station on TI. About froze to death in those drafty old transit barracks upon my return from being stationed at NAS Cubi Point, Subic Bay, PI. Got out of the navy as a RMC. (my profile shows me as a Coastie...wrong.. I was navy and am trying to get that changed as I see no way on my profile site to do that)

I served most of my career in the US NAVY 1979-1988 in California, as well as live in this state because my father was in the US NAVY.

I'm in San Carlos (on the Peninsula halfway between San Francisco and San Jose). I was in the Navy from 1973 to 1993 - started as a SN and finished as a LCDR.

I have moved to Sonoma CA. It is much better then Marin, the people are kinder, even though there are bad areas. I heard from the Navy. They could find no records of me being wounded in Iceland. They sent a multiple choice form letter that was checked off by someone there. Strange. They say it didn't happen, but I have the scar and the PTSD and so does the Marine who saw it all. I am going to Vet Connect on the 15th to talk to someone about this. It stinks, and it is just not right.

Yeah my little town is no longer that little. In the next few months we will be getting a Big 5 and by 2011 a Super Wal-Mart is to come in. They are currently building a Loves truck stop off the Hwy.

I tried to live in North Edwards a couple years back. I made it for 7 months and sold my house short to get back to Tehachapi. Other than having easy access to ride our go-carts, it was a big mistake.
