  • Do it! I would go in a heart beat! (I am a private pilot)
Open cockpit, biplane, a real piece of history!
Remember Eddie Andreini was flying inverted just feet off the runway, trying to cut a ribbon.

Just a nice flight around the patch? A cake walk!
    • Those old Steermans could cuise at about 80 mph, having a LOT of drag, what with the fixed landing gear along for the ride.I piloted a 1975 Cessna/172 at Kitty Hawk,NC,flew south at the Outer Banks over the Bodie Island Light House, and it was a HOOT!!...I was able to take it up & do some stunts with it,and had a very enjoyable day.But for some reason,I couldn't stop looking to avoid TREES and other objects...(there were none,of course ).Keeping the TRIM aligned was reminiscent of steering the old Navy Destroyers I served on...But you're right,Doug,it might be just what I need to get the old juices flowing again.I might give my friend a call, and see if the offer still stands....Stay tuned!

  • A friend of mine has a classic Steerman & invited me to go on a short flight with him,but....I don't know......
