Not funny, at least to me it isn't. I got out of the Navy and had a whole stack of Savings Bonds. They were busy earning interest, just as they should. I got a job at a friggin' Union Foundry and had to pay Union dues and was working real well, but then, after just a couple months working there, the Union decides to go on strike and I had a real whopping "strike fund" of $ 20.00 a week. That's twenty dollars a week. No typo there. I found that $20.00 didn't cover rent, gas groceries or much else. I had to cut into those bonds just to pay the bills and just as the strike ended, so did my savings bonds.
Unions SUCK and I will NEVER say anything good about them.
