I was stationed in the outside machine shop at DATC FMAG SDiego Nov '73 until retirement in Oct '75. As Senior Chief I supervised office administration and the 3M system as applied to repair facilities. A Master Chief supervised the shop operation.
Question-------Is SIMA the modern version of DATC FMAG? Never saw anything indicating a conversion, but all I see now days is SIMA referred to, and there seems to be quite a lot of them throughtout the Navy now. Did these facilities replace repair ships and tenders?
