  • Actually, we have had a lot of communications with the SDNHA. The retired Master Chief ran into road blocks years ago and had all but given up. He's become our "go to" guy there and has all the knowledge and experience. Hook up on here with Jim Ward. He'll be meeting with people in SD next week. He's heading there from Hawaii! Send him and I a friend request, we'll get you on the team and send you some of the emails. You can see the dust we've been raising. We have to get some more guys in that area(San Diego) on board here. I'm in NY and the other guys are in TX and HI. We have one of the team that is moving to SD after the first of the year. We're gonna get this done! There were hundreds of thousands of guys that passed by the bow of the Recruit and worked on her. We will find enough of them!
    • Jim:

Thanks for the return message.  As I find more and more information concerning the overall operation and outcome of the RTC/NTC re-development plan.

With more much-needed information I will have a month to stir-up-the-dust around our old home!

FYI:  I am almost ready to upload some of my RTC JPEGs.  They might come as quite a shock to the personnel that have yet to be informed.  A.K.A. - stir-up-the-dust!

  • Terry, there is group of us on here that have started a movement! Check out the thread on the RTC page! We have been in contact with all the parties involved and have a rep on his way there next week! The Recruit may be turned over to the Sea Cadets. We are working with the San Diego Naval Historical Assoc. to try and be sure there is a museum there as well.
    • Jim:

I'll continue to do some digging and maybe light a fire under someone at the SDO Naval Hist. Assoc.  As far as I am concerned, "they" should be more-than-happy to have someone come in and DO SOMETHING!  Things will not happen unless we start standing at their doorstep and asking about just what is going on here anyway!

I will check-out the thread at RTC.

      Later.

      STP
