I dropped out of High School on the East side of Cleveland Ohio. After Boot Camp I stayed in for 22 years going up from E-1 to E-8 as a Electricans Mate Than on shore duty at Yokosuka I reached W-1. Off to Officers school at Newport RI to become an Officer and a Gentleman. my first ship as an officer was the Point Defiance LSD 31 which took me to Vam and Agent Orange. I than made LDO LTJG Than duty at CinPacFlt Than to Shore duty at the Radio Tramsmitting Facility Oahu Hawaii, where I retired as LT I whish I had stayed in for 30 as I still miss sea duty and with the orders to the USS America, I most likely would have come off that carrier as LTCDR! yea the road not traveled as they say!
