when i was in there were career third class, second class that were happy to be a e4 or e5 now they would be and are being kicked out of service. the navy is becoming more and more like a business.

When I retired in 97 they still allowed E5 and E6 to stay until they had 20 yrs in so they could retired. Don't know about now
