The "Sweet Chariot" Tour is a cross-country presentation & book signing tour for Bruce's new release entitled "Swashbucklers and Black Sheep: A Pictorial History of Marine Fighting Squadron 214 in World War II," due for release on 9/15/2012. Featuring a rich collection of historical photography and aviation art, the book tells the complete story of VMF-214’s service in WWII and beyond.

Meanwhile, the trip commemorates the 65th anniversary of Jack Kerouac's cross-country hitchhiking odyssey that led to his classic novel "On the Road." Bruce will trace the entire 6,000-mile route in "Sweet Chariot," a 1967 Mustang convertible named for a bomber his father flew in WWII. A paralyzed veteran, cancer survivor, and award-winning author, Bruce has driven his classic car (fitted with hand controls and other improvements) over more than 30,000 miles of America's highways.
