  • Looking for any of my brothers former shipmates sadly he passed away

  • In 1986 I completed my first West-Pac and also became a Shell-Back while on board the Tarawa. I was a Corpsman deployed with the Marine Corps (Echo-2/1) and I have many fond memories of my time on her!
  • I was stationed aboard the Tarawa from 1989-1993, an "Operation Desert Storm" Veteran! The Air Department, V-1 Division and as part of the Flight Deck Crew back then. It was my only Sea Duty Tour and found being "Underway" to be the greatest pleasure in my life thus far. I miss being out at Sea!

  • I'm HTFN Green, R-Div, Shipfitter Shop, Engineering Dept. I was aboard the USS Tarawa (LHA-1) until 1989. On West Pac '87 and dry dock in Long Beach in '88. I sure miss the "Eagle Of The Sea!"

  • I was there from 1994 to 1998. Worked in the aft engineroom.

  • This ship was in my battle group while aboard the USS MOUNT VERNON LSD-39 1983-1984.
  • Hello shipmates of the USS Tarawa. I was stationed onboard from 1982-1985 and 1993-1996. It was not by choice that I was staioned on the Eagle of the Sea twice. It was the only billet available when I transfered the second time.
