USS ORION was the sixth FULTON - class submarine tender and the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. After almost exactly 50 years of service, the ORION was both decommissioned and stricken from the Navy list on September 3, 1993.

    I am looking for anyone who served on the USS Orion, that may have contracted asbestosis. My husband was on the Orion from 1959 - 1963.

    I was on the Orion from April 1977 to June 1980. I was an ET in R4 division. I enjoyed being in Charleston, SC for those 3 years.

looking for my chief

hi, I'm looking for my chief. His name is chief Chandler, we were in W-4 division. I worked for him during the yrs. 72-74.I been trying different things to find him I thought maybe during your travells on the Orion you may have bump into him.He's the one person that took me under his wing and taught me about life.I was a young and wild kid and he helped me alot.Now I wish I could just thank him.If you know anything please let me know thanks
