    Checked into TA division along with five others fresh out of TALOS TATTE school while Long Beach was completing refueling at Mare Island in 1971. Got seasick before we reach the Golden Gate bridge on our first sea trial.  Made FTM2 shortly after checking aboard and FTM1 shortly before leaving in December 1974.  Worked with a great group of guys and was able to get together with a few at the reunion here in Maine this year, 2018.

    I was a CTR serving TAD during deployment in 1967. Trip to Perth was great!

    During my TAD aboard in 1972 she still had the SPS32/33 Radar arrays ..

    Was on USS LONG BEACH  "ALCOA"  during Vietnam .. was aboard TAD as RDSN/RD3 Apr72 to Oct72 .. went back to  the GOLDSBOROUGH for another WestPac tour to Vietnam.
