    I was an ET and worked in the island. I was in radar 4. I was on the 84, 86 and 88 cruises.

    I was there. 86 and 88 Cruise on the Big E. AIMD/IM4. That was a hell of a day. Remember cheering on the Strauss? when it pulled along side the night before it went into the Fight!! Awesome moment!!

      I remember the hangar bay being eerily quiet after the launch that morning. PRI-FLY must have been jumping!!

      Got lots of Big E pics on my facebook page from both cruises! Even some from The Ditch!! Also PRI-FLY!!

    No, but I would have been most proud to be there with you. A great accomplishment that will be recorded in the Navy history books. A true show of American Naval Power. And what the Navy can do, if allowed to demonstrate its wisdom and experience in what it knows best. And what it can do for the protection of the American people.
