  • wow! you joined later much than me. i was company 225. Thought the base closed shortly after my graduation. Apparently not.
I joined the USS PROTEUS. Had good times in subic......
    • I saw the Proteus many times while I was on active duty. The USS Holland AS-32 relived her when we reported to Rota Spain in March or April of 1964. I went on board her to the radio shack to pick up- something. I forget now what I had to pick up. That was the only time that I went on board of her/
  • Hey Ridings
I was on the Greenlet from January 1962 to November 1963, it was a great ship, some of the best years of my life. I hope you remain healthy and enjoy life.

    • I will do the best that I can;. Yes, the year that I was stationed on board the Greenlet was a very good year. Was the Greenlet home ported out of Pearl Harbor when you were on board. It would be nice if there could be a reunion of every one that was ever on board the Greenlet.I would like to meet a lot of the men that was on board when I was. Smooth sailing and fair winds to you.
    • I am trying. I enjoyed the year that I spent on board the Greenlet. I have several pictures of her. She was sold to the Greek Navy about six months after I left her. Would like to see her to see what she looks like. I was the lead radioman for over six months until a first class came in and thought that he owned the ship. We did not get along too well. Where was she based out of when you were board her. I was just beginning my naval career when you were on board her. I enjoyed all of the ports that we made it to, most of the Hawaiian Islands, Japan, Subic Bay, Brememtion, Wash. San Franscisco, Calif.
