Invited to RTC Orlando for boot camp on Christmas Eve 1970, where the new boots were greeted with champagne, barbeque and smiling, friendly faces. Well, maybe not. Onward to ET-A in Treasure Island and eventually the mighty USS Kansas City (AOR-3) in 1973. Life was great! Which is why I bitched about it all day every day.
I attended boot camp at RTC Orlando around May of 1988 I was in Company C150 I believe. YN1 Singer was the CC I also attended QM "A" school right after before heading to the USS Kansas City AOR-3
RTC Orlando, Sep. - Dec. 1973. We were a drill company and were the first to have basic extended from 8 to 16 weeks. Glory!
RTC Orlando April 1970 to June 1970. Ended up as CTR, Yeoman, and back to CTR. Spain, Little Rock, and Maine.
RTC ORLANDO 25 March 1980 to 20 May 1980, CCs CTR1 Finzel and SM2 Nelson.

This is for James K. Hammons. I was in RTC Orlando from May 31-July 20 1975, Company 509. I don't remember my Company Commanders name but he was a big tall Texan from Denton Texas. Probably 75% of us were from Texas. Just thought i would say hey!
