iwas bt on the waddell ddg 24 we plane guarded the coral sea also april june we escorted minesweepers in hiaphong harbor. pretty awesome stuff for countryboy. the waddell was a great ship later tranfered to the coral sea in 74 thur 75

There's a very informative book by Edward J. Marolda entitled "Operation End Sweep, A History of Minesweeping Operations in North Vietnam." I think its a good read for anyone that was a part of TF78. There's also another one by Lt. Col John Van Nortwick USMC Retired, entitled "Operation End Sweep, A Short Summary."
I was tad to Uss Ogden LPD-5 from Uss Tripoli LPH-10 durning the op. Remember watching N. Vietnam gun boats circling the ship. We kept the 3 inch 50's manned but out of sight.
