Mine was a joke, you want me to guard what? The clothes line with a dummy rifle, really? What did get myself into? Then the navy put me in the Seabees, so much for XYZ doors. What a ride, looking back would not change a thing!

I agree with you. My Navy time was very important to me. It helped me grow, both physically and mentally. I wish all young people would do the same.
My worst memory of boot camp was standing mid watch on the bridge by myself or even worst guard duty in the nut ward. Had a guy follow me around the barracks one night with no clothes on and singing anchors aweigh. YUK
