  • was there 1959 to 1961.  worked out in the antenna field tuning receivers.

  • Just read the whole comment from old navy. Yup do remember that GDF day. Forgot about that till read the whole piece.
  • Served at Sidi from 2/69 to 6/70.  Was in Charlie Section CTO.

Charlie Section and others who served with people at a second duty station have been having a reunion every two years since 2004. Also, CTs think about joining NVCA--just google it.

  • Served at Sidi fm 4/70 to 4/71 Communications Technician "O" brancher. Loved the country..good times especially downtown at the "REX"...Would like to hear fm the old gang..Davis, Murphy, Diller, Peine, Claybrook and others....

  • I was there from 1966 to 1967. I was a CTR just out of school at Corry Field, Pensocola, Fla. We had some great times at the Fleet Club. My good friend Chester Dore' and I traveled all over Europe when we left there. He went to Rota and I went to Bremerhaven, Germany.

  • While I was not actually stationed there, I was sent there TAD twice.  Interesting culture back then (1966-1967)

  • I served there from 7/76 to 7/77... I was at that time a RM1 but was assigned to base security for 9 months then worked in Tech Control.  Loved Morocco and spent my off time touring the country in a Land Rover.

  • Hi. Was at Sidi from 5/62 to 11/63. Did go to the Med for 7 months. Did not mind being there at all. Just before I left I was coming back from the club and there was a guy from my hometown sitting on a bunk, what a surprise.
  • My year in Sidi was a hard lonely time. I had only been married for three months before I arrived and my wife and forthcoming child were back in New Orleans. Although I met many good shipmates while there and saw some really nice places, my loneliness almost consumed me. I was in charge of a group of Radiomen that were sent to Rota, Spain, TAD for about 8 weeks and it was a very good break from Sidi.

  • Spent winter of 70-July 72 in the basement living in Medyah in a villa with Pete Raymond and others. Spent three weeks trying to ski in France, but car accident sent us to Paris. Loved the Moroccan people and culture. Got to do a lot of traveling and worked with some great people. Was RM2 in Comm Center in the basement working frequencies and teletypes.....Remember two attempted coup on the King (where the Moroccan's parked a tank at our gate -- driving through road blocks). Night life didn't suck either -- good time/no regrets.
