  • I was tad from vp6 1975 and 1976 aimd gse division

  • Carl Barrett, UTC, USN (Ret) was a member of USNMCB-3 and installed all the water mains for the flight line and taxiway areas; installed the wash rack for aircraft, worked installing plumbing in Haversack Housing and was there when your first bird landed. I hope all you bird farmers were pleased for what we busted butt for, it took 10 years and 5 Seabee Battalions and tons of rock & earth moved and I think we did dam good job!.

  • I was an AC2 that worked Cubi Point Tower from January 1972 until December 1973.  My wife was with me and taught at Binictican Elementary School during the same period.

  • I arrived in Subic Bay in July 1968 as a Seaman and was assigned to Fleet Intelligence Pacific under the command of Commander Nick Oakley.  Nick was one of the finest persons I have ever met and remained friends with him until his death in Sept, 2010.  I was an enlisted man but had graduated from Law School and Nick sent me over to the legal department in Cubi Point where I remained for almost two years.  I evenually advanced to E-5 and was asked to be defense counsel in several court martials, most of them on board various Air Craft Carriers and in DaNang. While at Cubi I became friends with other sailors that I remain good friends to this day.  Being in the Navy and being at Cubi was one of the most significant times of my life and even though it was during a war I did have some great times.  I especially liked when I was able to get a flight out to a Carrier when I was TAD orders for trials. I enjoyed the PI and had lots of chances to travel all around the Islands.  Cubi was a great duty station and I well remember that we had one of the best mess halls in the Navy.  Would love to hear from others who were there at the same time I was.

  • arrived san miguel jan 66 from there sent to subic then navcomunit nas cubi pt...went from e5 to e6 left mid jan 68....busy but learned alot....ships from 60 to 65...icebreaker then oiler......

  • My command was in Subic but I work at the mail shed next to NOACT on the ramp NAS Cubi Pt. We loaded and unloaded the aircraft with mail mostly for Yankee Station off the coast of Vietnam. After the sked. C 1s and C2s were loaded I would ride to other line shacks and ask if they had any flights going out to any of the Carriers, some could fit a bag or two in there planes. They all like to carry mail because they would get a quick turn around and the ship would treat them very good..  I enjoyed my job there and had a lot of fun in Po city.

Cubi was my home for over one-half of my first enlistment.  I have not been back since September of 1970.  I know it was a long time ago but, I am looking for recent pictures of Cubi's Top Side that someone may have taken while on vacation, seeing relatives or on a business trip.  I have kept up with all of the big events and changes but, I have yet to see what is left of Top Side. I am not getting any younger!  Can anyone help me out????  I would consider it a miracle if someone did!!!!  A…
