I was at Argentia from Apr '69 to Jul '70. I was called Spud because I was from Idaho, but I'll admit, there's nothing, even today, that I enjoy more than a baked potato.

 Although I was a SeaBee, I was sent to NBC at Bunker 519 to work for DC1 Brandt. I guess I was chosen because I had already received a secret clearance when I was in Vietnam. PO Brandt was the only Damage Controlman on the base. If you were there then, I was the guy who took you into the Gas Chamber. PO Brandt and I were in charge of all of the bunkers on the base.

 I befriended a couple of nice christian people who were base employees, and spent a lot of time with them and their families at their homes in Dunville and Fox Harbour, and at church with them. But I spent most of my time at Bunker 519, I had a room in there.
