Was in GTMO from January 1966 to January 1967, worked and resided at the NAS Medical Dispensary up on the hill, for LT. Doctor Robert White, who was awesome. Remember the early morning drills for NEGDEF, was on the Search And Rescue Crew that flew the HU-16 out of McCalla Field and was the Sick Bay Corpsman. It was great duty, had a bunch of awesome Corpsman to work with, unfortunately can't remember all of their names. Jenkins was the senior Corpsman, Larry Fink taught me the finer points of playing pool, Tiny, Ski and three or four others, too bad, it's hell to get old. In 1967 I volunteered for VietNam duty, but after many years I have to admit I'm sorry I did that, GTMO was a great place for duty, enjoyed the tour and everything GTMO had to offer, should have finished my tour there, but felt obligated. Remember jogging to the beach in the early AM with a few other guys, take a dip, jog back to the dispensary, take a shower and be ready for Sick Call at 8:00am.
